CALL OF ENTRY

A wealth of valuable Heart Wood from Michigan's ancient forests is currently hiding within the walls of Detroit area homes that were built prior to 1929. As a result of the economic climate that has plagued this region for over a decade, a decision must be made on how to help prevent so much of our historic timber from entering the landfill. We say, "RE-NAIL IT!" We are inviting artists and craftsmen alike to take part in a rewarding process of reclaiming these materials through a competitive re-purposing exhibition. WARM Training and 71 Garfield LLC will be providing access to Douglas Fir Heartwood Pine sheathing, lath, and dimensional lumber that has been saved from the dumping grounds for our demonstration project and exhibition. 15 winning entries will be selected from both functional and whimsical pieces
